To start, I encouraged my clients to share their vision, which could include who the painting will portray, specific scenes, background elements, memories or particular emotions they wish the painting to convey. The initial process begins with a free consultation, where I (the artist) connect with you (via phone or email) to discuss your ideas extensively. During this phase, various aspects such as the painting’s size, style, subject(s) and specific elements are finalized. I highly encouraged you to provide photographs and additional references to help me better understand your vision. This collaborative approach is important to help every client feel invested and understood.  It also ensures that your input significantly shapes the final outcome of the artwork.

Throughout the creation process, regular updates and open communication channels (via email, phone, Zoom, or even *in-person studio visits *San Diego clients only) are maintained with you to ensure the custom portrait aligns with your expectations. Each stroke of the brush is carefully considered, embedding your unique story onto the canvas. This collaborative process guarantees that the finished piece is not only a beautiful handmade oil painting but also a deeply personalized artwork that resonates with the client’s heartfelt vision.

When investing in custom art, particularly handmade oil paintings and commissioned portraits, clients are often concerned about balancing affordability with quality. My pricing structure is thoughtfully designed to cater to a variety of budgets, ensuring that personalized artwork can be accessible to many. Smaller, less complex pieces naturally fall at the lower end of the pricing spectrum, making it easier for those on a tight budget to acquire a meaningful, custom portrait painting of their loved ones, family, or pets.

Conversely, more elaborate and larger pieces, which require extensive attention to detail and the use of numerous premium materials, are priced accordingly higher. This tiered pricing approach allows clients to select an option that best fits their needs and financial considerations, whether they seek a simple yet elegant portrait or a grand, meticulously detailed artwork.
